MEP Design Manager - Contract (Dublin)

We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to join a major, multi phase construction programme in Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the full MEP design lifecycle on a complex, large‑scale development.
The Role
You will lead and coordinate the design of all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems, ensuring high quality technical output, regulatory compliance and seamless integration across project disciplines. Working closely with design teams, consultants and project leadership. You will be at the forefront of delivering efficient, sustainable and technically robust solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary MEP design teams, ensuring consistent technical excellence.
- Oversee all MEP drawings, specifications, models and technical submittals.
- Ensure design compliance with Irish regulations, building codes and project standards.
- Promote sustainable and energy efficient design principles across MEP packages.
- Coordinate design activities with architecture, civil/structural teams and external consultants.
- Manage the MEP design programme, ensuring timely delivery of design milestones.
- Support cost estimation, budgeting and value engineering processes.
- Review tenders, technical proposals and supplier submissions.
- Resolve design clashes, technical issues, and cross discipline challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including design reviews, risk logs and status reports.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related engineering discipline.
- 5-10+ years' experience in MEP design or engineering consultancy.
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC, power distribution, plumbing and energy systems.
- Proficiency with BIM, Revit, CAD and design coordination tools.
- Strong understanding of Irish/EU building regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
