What You'll Be Doing
As a Mobile Plant Mechanic, you'll carry out maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across a broad range of plant equipment.
You'll travel between sites, working independently to keep machinery running safely and efficiently while minimising downtime for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on plant equipment (excavators, plant trailers, telehandlers, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and manuals
- Carry out safety inspections and complete detailed service and repair reports
- Communicate effectively with clients and site supervisors to plan and prioritise work
- Maintain tools, equipment and ensure your work vehicle is kept clean, safe and organised
What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential:
- Trade Qualification - Mobile Plant Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Cert III or equivalent)
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing mobile plant equipment
- Valid UK Driver's Licence (MR/HR licence desirable)
- Strong problem‑solving skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Construction White Card
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
