We are seeking experienced, coded Welders (FCAW or MMA) to join our shipyard team on a rolling contract, supporting increased demand across ship repair and dock maintenance.
This role is ideal for someone looking to transition off offshore rotations and return to local work pattern while still utilising strong marine, offshore, or oil & gas welding experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform coded welding using FCAW or MMA on vessels, structural components, and heavy marine steelwork.
- Support ship repair projects, including hull section replacements, structural reinforcement.
- Interpret technical drawings, weld procedures, and specifications.
- Complete weld preparation and finishing, including cutting and grinding.
- Work safely within a busy shipyard environment, upholding all H&S protocols.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining high weld quality and consistency.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades to support operational demands
Requirements
- Valid coding in FCAW and/or MMA
- Background in marine, offshore, shipbuilding, oil & gas, or heavy fabrication environments.
- Strong awareness of safety critical welding and inspection standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi disciplinary team.
- Fit for physical work in varied conditions (confined spaces, heights, outdoor areas).
- Willing to work overtime as required to support project timelines
