X2 Solution Architects

Day rate: £750 per day Umbrella
Duration: 6 months (Expected duration: 2-3 years, subject to programme needs)
Location: London (Hybrid)

There are two Consultant Architect positions. While both share core architectural responsibilities, each role has a different domain focus:


Key Skills Required
Core Architecture Skills (Both Roles)
Ability to design complex technical solutions involving hardware & software
Strong understanding of enterprise architecture concepts
Hands‑on ability to work with technical teams and suppliers


Front Office - Essential Domain Skills
Ticketing industry background (highly preferred)
Experience with gates, TVMs, validators, smartcard systems
Understanding of magnetic ticket processing
Knowledge of validation device architectures

Back Office - Essential Domain Skills
Transaction processing and payments domain knowledge
Experience with payment acquirers (Visa/Mastercard/Amex)
Backend system design (Java / .NET / Oracle desirable)
Strong understanding of on‑premises infrastructure
