Estimator (Permanent)

Matchtech is recruiting for a Permanent Estimator to join a well‑established civil engineering and specialist construction contractor based in Sittingbourne (ME10 3EU). The contractor delivers a wide range of works including structural refurbishment, civils, drainage, marine construction, and bespoke footbridge projects.

About the Role
As an Estimator, you will support tendering activity across multiple divisions, preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing drawings and specifications, and working closely with suppliers and subcontractors. You will play a key role in securing new work across:
- Structural repair & refurbishment
- Marine and waterway construction
- Footbridge design and build
- Civil and drainage packages
- Precast and specialist stone projects
This is a varied, engaging position suited to an Estimator with a background in civils or construction who enjoys working across a broad technical portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate tenders and cost estimates
- Analyse drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Identify risks, opportunities and value‑engineering opportunities
- Collaborate with engineering, operations and commercial teams
- Support bid writing and tender submissions
- Assist with project handover following successful tender awards
About You
- Experience as an Estimator (or Assistant Estimator ready to progress) within civil engineering or construction
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and tender documentation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Organised, detail‑focused and capable of managing multiple deadlines
