Rate: £390/day (Outside IR35, slight movement DOE)
Contract: 6‑month initial
Start: W/C 23rd March / 30th March / ASAP

Overview
A Tier 1 contractor delivering United Utilities AMP8 wastewater projects is seeking an experienced Freelance Civil Site Supervisor / Site Manager to support two key schemes: a major rising mains/shafts project in Carlisle and a mains replacement project in Whitehaven.
This role requires strong civils leadership, excellent safety management, and experience delivering water/wastewater infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day site operations across wastewater/civils projects.
- Oversee construction activities on rising mains, shafts, and mains replacement works.
- Lead and coordinate subcontractors and direct labour.
- Ensure compliance with H&S procedures, RAMS, permits, and site audits.
- Maintain progress against programme, reporting on productivity and issues.
- Manage quality assurance, site documentation, and technical standards.
- Liaise with the project team, client representatives, and stakeholders.
- Support problem‑solving, risk mitigation, and delivery of project milestones.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- SMSTS or SSSTS (essential)
- Strong background in civils construction
- Experience in wastewater / rising mains / pipelines / shafts / water infrastructure (ideally AMP frameworks)
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and site resources
- Strong understanding of H&S management and site compliance
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
