Are you an experienced Mechanical Designer looking to join a specialist manufacturer at the forefront of aircraft lighting technology? My client designs and manufactures high‑performance lighting products for the aviation sector and is looking for a seasoned mechanical designer to join their team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design activities for aircraft lighting products from concept through to production.
  • Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Support prototype builds, testing processes, and design validation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and new product development initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' mechanical design and drafting experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor is essential.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Design or a similar field
  • Strong practical experience within a mechanical design or manufacturing environment.
  • Clear, confident communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage your own workload.
  • Must be eligible for UK security clearance (5 years living in the UK and a British/Duel British passport or share code.
