Our client is looking for a skilled Purview SME to join the technology sector on a contract basis. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring data protection and discoverability as it transitions into a new Azure platform for a key financial services client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Cataloguing: Deploy Microsoft Purview to scan and map data assets across Azure SQL, Data Lake, and Power BI.
- Classification & Labelling: Define and implement Sensitivity Labels (e.g., Public, Internal, Confidential, Highly Confidential) to automate data protection.
- Lineage & Traceability: Build data lineage maps to illustrate the journey of data from source to report, ensuring compliance with BCBS 239 (Risk Data Aggregation) and GDPR.
- Stakeholder Advisory: Act as the Subject Matter Expert for data owners, advising on how to use Purview for data discovery and quality monitoring.
Job Requirements:
- Experience as an Engineer in the technology sector
- Strong expertise in deploying and managing Microsoft Purview
- Knowledge of data protection and sensitivity labelling
- Understanding of compliance requirements such as BCBS 239 and GDPR
- Ability to create detailed data lineage maps
