Project Manager - Pre‑Insulated Pipework & Utilities

Location: Buckingham

Salary: Circa £60,000 DOE + £5,000 car allowance

Contract: Full‑time, Permanent

Role Overview

The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, taking responsibility from contract handover through to final account. This role requires strong commercial awareness, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage technical installation projects with accountability for financial outcomes.

Projects are located across the UK, with typical site attendance of 1-2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage several projects concurrently from handover to completion and final account.

  • Lead the financial performance of each project.

  • Coordinate with clients, main contractors, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Plan and manage project resources, schedules, procurement, and subcontractors.

  • Oversee installation works to ensure compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.

  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support site teams.

  • Prepare and manage project documentation, variations, and progress reporting.

  • Lead project close‑out activities including commissioning, handover documentation, and final accounts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or utility‑based contracting, with the ability to manage multiple technical projects effectively.

Essential experience:

  • Previous experience working for an MEP contractor or pipework/utilities contractor.

  • Experience managing projects with commercial and financial accountability.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate with design teams.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience with pre‑insulated pipe systems or district heating networks.

  • Knowledge of multi‑utility installation processes.
