Our client, a prominent entity within the banking sector, is currently seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to join their team. This permanent position, based in Portugal, focuses on providing robust IT support within the retail banking sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively managing and resolving production incidents
  • Following up and coordinating changes and technical operations
  • Participating in change management, involving collaboration with development, sysadmin, DBA, and networking teams
  • Keeping documentation up to date, including application components and operations
  • Managing backup data and performing regular restoring tests
  • Monitoring applications and infrastructure in compliance with established SLAs
  • Controlling load capacity for applications
  • Contributing to continuous automation and improvement of existing procedures
  • Collaborating with development teams to define the architecture of new applications

Job Requirements:


Main Technical Requirements:

  • Experience in similar roles
  • Good knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience with industrial schedulers, especially BMC/Control-M
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell, Python, and PowerShell
  • Understanding of database concepts
  • Experience with infrastructure backups and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of LDAP, Firewalls, Reverse Proxy, Active Directory, and Kerberos
  • Strong networking knowledge
