Our client, is currently seeking a Drainage Engineer (Development and Water Management) to join their team on a contract basis. This role will support the design of highways drainage and development drainage schemes across various capital programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing highway drainage to the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) for Environment, Transport & Economy (ETE) project work
- Planning level / S278 / S38 design experience
- Designing foul and surface water drainage in accordance with current Building Regulations and Sewer Sector Guidance
- Understanding of Flood Risk Activities Permits (FRAPS), Environment Agency discharge and trade effluent permitting, and Ordinary Watercourse Consents (OWC)
- Specialist design of small packaged sewage treatment plants (PSTPs) and drainage fields/mounds/outfalls
- Proficient use of AutoCAD / Civils 3D alongside InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow
- Writing specifications in Specification for Highway Works (SHW) and/or National Building Specification (NBS) formats
Job Requirements:
- Good range of drainage and water management design skills specific to highway drainage and development schemes
- Competence in the use of AutoCAD / Civils 3D and InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow
- Understanding of FRAPS, Environment Agency discharge and trade effluent permitting, and OWC applications
- Experience in writing specifications in SHW and/or NBS formats
- Desirable skills in designing small PSTPs and drainage fields/mounds/outfalls
- Full driving licence (category B) is required
