Our client, is currently seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join their team in Dorset on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and contributing to local transport plans and scheme concepts
- Engaging in transportation planning activities for various projects
- Conducting market research to stay updated with current trends in transport planning
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure project alignment and successful delivery
- Participating in internal reshuffles and contributing to team restructuring efforts
- Providing strategic input on transportation needs and solutions
- Remaining proactive in identifying and solving transport-related challenges
- Visiting project sites and meeting with stakeholders as required
Job Requirements:
- Experience in transport planning within the highways sector
- Strong understanding of local transport plans and scheme development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels
- Proven track record in delivering transport planning projects
- Proficiency in transportation planning software and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Relevant qualification in transport planning or a related discipline
Contract Details:
- Full-time position with an immediate start date
- 12-18 month secondment
- Based in Dorset with occasional travel as required
