Our client is currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The role requires the ability to manage and execute projects related to Traffic, Parking, Transport, and Highway Services. This includes attending the office three days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking projects from feasibility to completion to meet targets and quality standards set by legislations, TfL, and the Council
- Assisting in budget compilation, monitoring, and management for various projects
- Preparing equality and risk assessments, TfL score cards, and comprehensive reports
- Addressing inquiries, including member inquiries and FOIs related to schemes
- Attending site and public meetings, including those with MPs and Councillors
- Contributing to the development and implementation of service policies and practices
- Liaising with and commissioning contractors, including handling invoices
- Ensuring compliance with the Council's practices on Customer Care and Equal Opportunities
- Providing technical advice and guidance on engineering techniques relevant to work areas
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and traffic design
- Experience in conducting feasibility studies and design work for complex schemes
- Ability to carry out site inspections and prepare accurate records
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and report preparation
- Understanding and application of key transport legislation
- Experience in preparing Contract/Tender documents
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Ability to manage and monitor project budgets
