Our client, a leader in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a Senior Outfit Engineer to join their team in Scotstoun on a contract basis. This exciting role involves working on the prestigious Hunter project within the Maritime Naval Ships (MNS) division. You will be contributing to highly technical and strategic defence projects, working in a hybrid capacity with 1-2 days per week on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineering of outfit systems for maritime naval ships
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers and engineers
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and project specifications
- Provide technical expertise and oversight during the implementation phase
- Conduct regular site visits to oversee design execution and resolve any onsite issues
- Maintain detailed documentation and reports on design progress and changes
- Assist in the evaluation of design proposals and technical solutions
- Support the integration of outfit systems into the overall ship design
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a BAE-Outfit designer or BAE-Outfit engineer
- Strong background in the defence and security sector, particularly in maritime projects
- Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements for naval shipbuilding
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
- Proficient in design and engineering software
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- BPSS security clearance to start, with a requirement to obtain SC clearance
