Our client, a pivotal entity in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Chartered Senior Engineer for a contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing independent oversight as the CG300 works examiner on Gallows Corner
- Conducting site visits 3-4 times a week at the start of employment to inspect and sign off on 6 live sites
- Ensuring adherence to construction and highway standards
- Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Preparing detailed reports and technical documentation
- Managing and mentoring junior engineers on site
- Ensuring all engineering solutions are robust, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory standards
- Maintaining an independent approach to project assessments and validations
Job Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IstructE
- Strong experience in highways, construction, and bridge engineering
- Proficiency in conducting site inspections and signing off on critical project milestones
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Experience in preparing comprehensive technical reports
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members
