Our client, a leading provider in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying duties on rail projects
  • Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
  • Ensuring that all commercial aspects are managed in line with the required standards and procedures
  • Conducting risk assessments and providing advice on contractual claims
  • Preparing and evaluating cost estimates and final accounts
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Monitoring and controlling project budgets and expenditures
  • Providing regular financial reports and updates to project stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the rail industry
  • Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices
  • Ability to prepare and analyse cost estimates and budgets
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Relevant surveying degree or equivalent qualification
