Our client, a leading provider in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying duties on rail projects
- Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
- Ensuring that all commercial aspects are managed in line with the required standards and procedures
- Conducting risk assessments and providing advice on contractual claims
- Preparing and evaluating cost estimates and final accounts
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Monitoring and controlling project budgets and expenditures
- Providing regular financial reports and updates to project stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the rail industry
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices
- Ability to prepare and analyse cost estimates and budgets
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines
- Relevant surveying degree or equivalent qualification
