Contract: 6‑month initial contract (potential to extend)
Hours: 39 per week
Pay: £17.89 per hour (PAYE)
We are looking for an apprentice‑trained Fabricator Welder to join our engineering team, supporting experienced welders and contributing to high‑quality, coded‑standard work.
About the Role
You will be involved in the manufacture of large high‑tension cable connections, working primarily with mild steel and occasionally with stainless steel in thicknesses ranging from 1.6mm to 4.0mm. This is a hands‑on role requiring a proactive approach and a willingness to support all aspects of production.
Key Responsibilities
Assist welders working to coded standards
Carry out general engineering and fabrication tasks
Manufacture components for high‑tension cable assemblies
Perform hand grinding and basic machine shop duties as required
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Apprentice‑trained fabricator/welder
Experience with MIG and TIG welding
Desirable:
Skills in MMA, brazing, and gas welding
General fabrication experience
Ability to support varied workshop tasks to ensure timely completion of work
Working Hours
Monday-Thursday: 7:15am - 4:15pm
Friday: 7:15am - 12:15pm
