Matchtech are supporting a key client in down town Toronto for the recruitment of a Senior Project Controls Specialist to join their growing team. The requisition is a contract position for 12 months initially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project controls processes and consult with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction
- Present schedule and budget status reports and analysis of deliverables to both the project management team and client
- Support all aspects of project controls and reporting, including project change management, cost control, risk management, progress measurement, schedule development and schedule control
- Perform project set-up in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software
- Create and manage the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows and forecasts
- Approve Purchase Orders and/or Subcontracts for proper coding and document changes to cost reports or forecasts
- Assist with upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase order & subcontract) change orders
- Develop and maintain an earned value management system
- Lead project risk management activities to identify, assess and mitigate potential risks
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating, and document control
- Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
- Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface them with engineering and procurement activities
- Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification a plus
