Matchtech is delighted to be partnering with a leading main contractor to appoint an experienced Site or Senior Site Manager for a landmark seafront regeneration scheme in Brighton. This multi‑phase project represents one of the most significant public‑realm and heritage redevelopment programmes on the South Coast.
The Project
This high‑profile regeneration scheme focuses on the demolition,reconstruction, and refurbishment of historic seafront arches, along with extensive public‑realm enhancements. Delivered over two concurrent phases, the programme includes:
- Demolition and clearance works
- Construction of a new in‑situ reinforced concrete frame
- Reinstatement of listed architectural features
- Highway modifications and improvements
- Major service diversions
- Public‑realm and hard‑landscaping upgrades
- Integration of architectural, mechanical and electrical elements to support both internal and external fit‑out
As Site/Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Senior Project Manager through each stage of delivery up to phased handovers scheduled in 2027 and 2028.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the on‑site delivery team to ensure smooth, efficient and safe operations
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered to programme and quality standards
- Oversee and contribute to design coordination, providing technical input where required
- Develop construction methodology and produce short‑term programmes to support weekly and monthly planning
- Maintain exceptional standards of health & safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Prepare, implement and manage logistics plans, access strategies and delivery schedules
- Foster a collaborative site culture, supporting performance, communication and problem solving across all project stakeholders
Requirements
We are seeking candidates with:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within a major or regional main contractor
- Demonstrable experience on complex, large‑scale projects valued at £20m+
- Strong leadership, communication and team‑management capability
- A proactive, organised and delivery‑driven approach
- Experience working on public sector projects under NEC contracts (highly advantageous)
- Valid certifications including:
- CSCS (Managerial level)
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
