Our client, a leading firm in the manufacturing and engineering sector, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer for a contract role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing tooling and fixtures using SolidWorks and HyperMILL CAD/CAM packages
- Programming, setting up, and operating multiaxis CNC machines, with a preference for experience with Mazak SmoothX controls
- Ensuring the precision and accuracy of tooling for various manufacturing projects
- Collaborating with engineering and production teams to optimise tooling designs and processes
- Conducting troubleshooting and maintenance of tooling and CNC machinery
- Providing technical support and training to colleagues as required
- Maintaining documentation and records of tooling designs and modifications
- Adhering to health and safety standards and quality control procedures
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and HyperMILL CAD/CAM packages
- Experience in multiaxis CNC operation, preferably with Mazak SmoothX controls
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience
