Our client is currently seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working on various temporary design and surface water drainage projects. The focus is on large civil projects involving basins, ditches, pumping, treatments, and levels, rather than typical pipe drainage systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing surface water drainage solutions for large civil projects
- Working on temporary design schemes
- Utilising software such as InfoDrainage and Civil 3D for project design and execution
- Collaborating with project teams to achieve successful project outcomes
- Conducting site assessments and providing engineering solutions for basins, ditches, pumping, treatments, and levels
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Preparing detailed technical reports and documentation
- Working from the office a minimum of three days a week (offices preferred in Bristol, Liverpool, or Birmingham)
Job Requirements:
- Experience in drainage engineering, particularly in the highways sector
- Proficiency in using InfoDrainage and Civil 3D software
- Strong understanding of surface water drainage solutions for large civil projects
- Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in the office a minimum of three days a week
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
