Our client, a leading organisation in the energy sector, is currently seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join their team in Houston. This key role will focus on transmission tower projects, providing an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects within a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of various structural project designs, including PLS-Tower modelling, FEM structure modelling, and reinforcement design.
- Develop man-hour estimates, schedules, and project budgets for proposal responses and project execution.
- Create project deliverables from conceptual designs through detailed design.
- Prepare drawings for production work, involving problem analysis, design layout, and calculations.
- Execute a variety of structural design assignments using prescribed methods, standard techniques, and industry-specific software.
- Review and incorporate design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Maintain and organise all revisions of the project 3D model, drawings, and related information.
- Participate in the structural design Quality Review process, including back-checking drawings and models.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
- Significant experience in structural engineering.
- Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA-3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, and BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically to solve quantitative problems.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
