Our specialist Project Management and Project Controls consultancy are seeking a Project Planner with OPC experience to be based in end client offices in Tamworth 4 days a week on a permanent basis.

They are supporting major infrastructure programmes across the UK including Severn Trent Water. They are seeking a Project Planner with Oracle Primavera Cloud expertise to work out of end client offices. Water industry experience is desirable but non essential. The ideal candidate will have worked in project construction environments under NEC form of contract, liaising with project management teams on a regular basis.

The Role

As a Project Planner, you will play a key role in the successful planning, monitoring and delivery of major capital projects. You will work closely with Severn Trent Water providing high‑quality project scheduling, progress analysis and performance reporting across a portfolio of infrastructure and construction works.

This is a client-facing role requiring 3-4 days per week on-site at Severn Trent's offices, with the remainder of the week working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC)/ Primavera P6/MS project
  • Support Project Managers and Project Controls teams with planning expertise across programme lifecycle.
  • Monitor schedule performance, progress, and productivity, identifying variances and impacts.
  • Produce clear, accurate progress reports, dashboards and planning insights.
  • Support risk, change and cost teams with schedule impacts and scenario modelling.
  • Facilitate planning workshops, coordination sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Ensure planning governance, templates, and procedures are followed in line with client standards.
  • Engage effectively with Severn Trent Water and contractor partners to maintain an integrated programme view.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner within infrastructure, engineering or construction projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC).
  • NEC experience essential
  • Working knowledge of project controls principles, including risk, cost and change.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate clearly.
  • Confident in client‑facing environments with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Water industry experience is desirable, but not essential.
