Control Systems Engineer - Motorsport

An exceptional opportunity to join a world‑class motorsport team, working at the forefront of control systems engineering. This permanent onsite role allows you to directly influence Formula One car performance, collaborating with industry experts in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop advanced electronic control systems for on‑car use, simulators (HIL/DIL), and test facilities
- Own projects end‑to‑end: specification, implementation, testing, delivery, and ongoing support
- Build software/tools for calibration, data monitoring, analysis, and performance optimisation
- Support development of standard ECU software and calibrations
- Investigate control system issues using telemetry, HIL and SIL tools
- Create HIL simulations and plant models to enhance test coverage
- Contribute to coding standards and systems engineering methods
- Provide factory-based race and test support
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics or related field
- Proven Motorsport experience
- Strong control theory knowledge with excellent analytical/mathematical skills
- Experience modelling/measuring mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Proven real-time control software development using Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow and auto‑coding
- Knowledge of high‑speed data acquisition and analysis
- Experience with McLaren Applied tools such as System Monitor or ATLAS (advantageous)
