Our client, a prominent organisation in the Aerospace MRO sector, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join their team. This permanent role demands a keen focus on the maintenance of airframe, engine, and avionics systems, ensuring compliance with the Service Centre Quality System in line with the ISO9002 Quality System Manual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the performance of maintenance and related services by Line Service, Aircraft, and Avionics Maintenance Technicians, ensuring technical quality standards are met
- Oversee fuel dispensing, towing, aircraft positioning, and various Line Service functions
- Plan, recommend and manage staffing, equipment, and facility resources by preparing budgets, requisitions, and administrative documents
- Ensure the overall operating efficiencies of the maintenance department, including Labour Utilisation and Billing Efficiency
- Develop and implement work method improvements by observing service work and evaluating techniques
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and quotations for service work, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
- Ensure Hazardous Materials Handling Standards are met and that safety equipment is used where required
- Review customer account status prior to and during maintenance visits, address queries, and resolve billing issues
- Maintain and implement the ISO9002 Quality System
- Ensure on-time delivery of customer aircraft and maintain statistics to measure and improve shop performance
- Manage shop loss control, including scrap and shop loss reduction programmes
- Review customer feedback and ensure evaluations are shared with the responsible teams
- Submit reports of defects or unairworthy conditions in accordance with FAR 145.63
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation Management, or a related field
- Experience in aviation, preferably in an aftermarket repair/maintenance environment
- CASA Part 66 Licence preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- High degree of confidentiality when necessary
- Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and ability to manage competing demands
- Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable
