EC&I Engineer - Electrical Infrastructure Design Experience Required
From concept to commissioning, you'll play a key part in delivering high‑quality, safe, and innovative designs that make a difference.
What You'll Be Doing
Driving EC&I Excellence
You'll lead on creating robust, intelligent EC&I design solutions, including:
- Developing exciting design concepts such as SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules and layout drawings
- Designing with a strong understanding of control systems (hardware & software)
- Working with Functional Safety standards (BS EN 61508 & 61511)
- Producing designs that meet British/European standards and exceed client expectations
- Ensuring operability, maintainability and safety are at the heart of every design
- Managing and maintaining technical documentation (LTQR / Technical File)
- Delivering designs on time, on budget and to exceptional quality
- Preparing technical reports and justifications that demonstrate risk mitigation
- Producing functional safety and control documents (FDS, SIDD, Functional Safety Plans)
- Creating the drawings, specs and instructions needed for manufacture
- Checking and approving in‑house and supplier drawings
- Developing EC&I technical specifications and commissioning documentation (FAT/SAT)
- Supporting and managing subcontractors
- Witnessing commissioning activities and ensuring systems perform as intended
- Reading and producing EC&I drawings using AutoCAD
Who We're Looking For
An EC&I Engineer who brings:
- Proven EC&I design experience
- Strong technical reporting skills (basis of design, substantiation, calculations)
- Knowledge of safety interlock systems (preferred)
- HVAC controls experience (highly desirable)
- Proven experience in Electrical Infrastructure Design
- Experience in highly Regulated Industries such as Nuclear, pharmaceuticals or renewable energy
