A world-class advanced electronics manufacturer who support several key sectors are urgently seeking an experienced Buyer with proven knowledge of electronics manufacturing to join their procurement team in Newport.

  • Role: Buyer (Full Time)
  • Pay: Competitive annual salary
  • Location: Newport
  • Working Pattern: Fully onsite

As a Buyer you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely procurement of materials and services essential to manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop relationships with assigned suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and agreements to secure best-value supply
  • Analyse, review and report on supplier price changes
  • Identify and introduce alternative suppliers and materials where beneficial
  • Ensure purchasing requisitions reflect accurate lead times
  • Escalate and resolve supply issues that may impact production
  • Minimise exposure to MOQs and price increases
  • Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct, import/export and legal requirements
  • Keep excess, cost and stock levels under tight control

This is a critical role within the purchasing team, supporting production, quality, planning and engineering to ensure a smooth, cost‑effective and reliable supply chain.

Key Requirements:

  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and components
  • Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work independently and take full ownership of tasks
  • Proactive, analytical and commercially focused
  • Strong IT skills
  • CIPS qualified (desirable)
