A world-class advanced electronics manufacturer who support several key sectors are urgently seeking an experienced Buyer with proven knowledge of electronics manufacturing to join their procurement team in Newport.
- Role: Buyer (Full Time)

As a Buyer you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely procurement of materials and services essential to manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop relationships with assigned suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms and agreements to secure best-value supply
- Analyse, review and report on supplier price changes
- Identify and introduce alternative suppliers and materials where beneficial
- Ensure purchasing requisitions reflect accurate lead times
- Escalate and resolve supply issues that may impact production
- Minimise exposure to MOQs and price increases
- Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct, import/export and legal requirements
- Keep excess, cost and stock levels under tight control
This is a critical role within the purchasing team, supporting production, quality, planning and engineering to ensure a smooth, cost‑effective and reliable supply chain.
Key Requirements:
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and components
- Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work independently and take full ownership of tasks
- Proactive, analytical and commercially focused
- Strong IT skills
- CIPS qualified (desirable)
