Our client is currently seeking Civils Site Supervisors/Site Managers to join their team on a contract basis. The role is based in Silchester, Reading, working on the Thames Water AMP8 project. This opportunity will see you contributing to the upgrade of the Silchester Sewage Treatment Works (STW), improving its capacity to treat incoming sewage volumes and reducing untreated discharges in wet weather.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising and managing civil engineering projects within the water sector, specifically with sewage treatment and water treatment works (WWTW, WTW, Non-infra projects)
- Overseeing site activities and ensuring that all work is completed safely and efficiently
- Coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
- Conducting regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality and safety standards
- Managing site documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and progress reports
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Addressing any issues or challenges that arise on site and finding effective solutions
- Maintaining strong communication with project teams, clients, and subcontractors
Job Requirements:
- Experience in civil engineering, with a specific focus on water infrastructure projects
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification is essential
- Proven ability to supervise and manage construction sites effectively
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in managing documentation and maintaining accurate records
