Our client, a reputable design house in the water sector, is seeking skilled Civil Design Managers to join their team for a 12-month contract. This role focuses on a range of AMP8 projects, primarily involving non-infrastructure projects for United Utilities and Anglian Water, with some infrastructure projects across the UK. The position is based in Manchester, with the flexibility to work from home 2 or 3 days per week. The role falls outside of IR35 regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing civil design projects within the water sector
- Coordinating with project teams to ensure successful delivery of AMP8 projects
- Developing and implementing design plans for both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects
- Ensuring all design work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Mentoring and leading junior designers and engineers
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
- Conducting project reviews and providing technical guidance to the team
- Managing project documentation and reporting
Job Requirements:
- Experience in civil design management within the water sector
- Understanding of AMP8 project requirements and standards
- Strong knowledge of both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in relevant design software and tools
- Flexibility to work in Manchester 2 or 3 days per week, with the rest of the time working from home
