Our client is currently seeking experienced Highway Design Engineers to join their team on a contract basis.
Working within the Highways team, you will be supporting the Capital Highways Improvements Programme in Bournemouth, with a particular focus on Safer Routes to School, the Bus Service Improvement Plan, and the Active Travel Fund.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing highway improvement projects
- Supporting the Capital Highways Improvements Programme
- Contributing to projects such as Safer Routes to School, Bus Service Improvement Plan, and Active Travel Fund
- Collaborating with the project team to ensure project objectives are met
- Preparing design documentation and technical reports
- Conducting site visits and assessments as required
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant standards and legislation
- Utilising own vehicle for business travel when necessary
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highway design engineering
- Understanding of capital highway improvements projects
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to use own vehicle for business travel
- Strong technical and design skills
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
