Role details:
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors, is currently seeking a Production Controller to join their team in Yeovil on a 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Launching production orders as required by the master production plan
- Splitting production orders and ensuring all data is correctly transferred
- Closing rework and labour-only production orders, ensuring all operations are correctly clocked
- Generating statistics and reports for the manufacturing shop regarding Work in Progress (WIP)
- Updating production order statuses and comments where applicable
- Running shortage reviews with other departments to prioritise parts and review forecasts
- Ensuring Bill of Materials (BOM) in the production order is accurate
- Loading all outgoing work on the offload rail and prioritising tasks accordingly
- Supporting offload operations and resolving issues, including paperwork amendments
Job Requirements:
- Strong experience in production management within the Defence & Security or Aerospace sectors
- Sound educational background with demonstrated competency through work experience
- Experience working with SAP within material management and production planning modules
- Excellent computer literacy, especially with the use of Excel
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
- Knowledge of company quality systems
- Integrity and a professional approach
