This is a permanent role in London offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of high-profile and challenging projects aimed at improving transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development of detailed highway designs in urban environments
  • Providing technical expertise and contributing to the future growth of the business
  • Developing active travel, public realm, traffic, and transportation schemes
  • Undertaking transport planning studies for both public and private sector clients
  • Managing projects from initial feasibility through to detailed design and implementation
  • Engaging with clients, colleagues, sub-contractors, and sub-consultants
  • Ensuring designs comply with industry standards and guidance such as DMRB, TfL streetscape guidance, and others
  • Participating in a fast-paced team environment to deliver projects in challenging London locations

Job Requirements:

  • A relevant degree or a postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in developing highway designs in accordance with industry standards
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD to produce high-quality drawings and design packages
  • Experience with the Statutory Undertaker's plant diversion processes
  • Strong written communication skills for compiling reports for clients and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of industry CDM 2015 requirements for Principal Designers and Designers
  • Confident in liaising with various stakeholders
  • Proactive and able to use initiative to drive project success

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in using Gantt charts to plan and track project progress
  • Experience with financial tracking and reporting over a project lifecycle
  • Mentoring junior staff members to support team deliverables
  • Ability to take a lead role in project delivery
  • Working knowledge of Civils 3D and SuDS/raingarden design
  • Experience collaborating with other disciplines (e.g., urban design)
  • Working towards or holding Incorporated Engineer status or above with a relevant professional body
