About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of major mechanical systems on a hyperscale data centre project in Norway. This is a flagship, high‑value mission‑critical development requiring strong technical expertise, excellent coordination skills, and proven leadership in a fast‑paced environment.
You will oversee all mechanical installation activities, ensure integration with electrical and CSA disciplines, drive programme delivery, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Mechanical package across all phases of the project, from pre‑construction to commissioning.
- Oversee installation of key systems, including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling infrastructure, pipework, pumps, ventilation, and associated plant.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met.
- Coordinate closely with Design, CSA, Electrical, and Commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Manage mechanical subcontractors, ensuring performance, safety, and quality standards are upheld.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
- Liaise with the client, design consultants, and internal stakeholders regarding technical queries and design issues.
- Support procurement, material tracking, technical submittals, and change control processes.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering mechanical works on large‑scale construction or mission‑critical projects.
- Previous data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or industrial project experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of complex mechanical systems and large‑scale plant installation.
- Excellent project planning, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors across a high‑pressure, fast‑track programme.
- Relevant mechanical engineering or construction management qualification.
- Willingness to work in Norway on rotation or full‑time basis.
- EU/UK passport or valid work authorisation for Norway.
