We are recruiting for an experienced Material Operations Manager to take full ownership of material flow, inventory performance and production scheduling at a busy manufacturing site. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient and timely movement of materials throughout the plant, enabling reliable production execution and consistently strong on-time delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
Material Flow, Inventory & Lean Operations
- Own all direct material at site level, including subcontract/OSP management
- Manage end‑to‑end material flow across receiving, stores, production and shipping
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions and support target inventory levels
- Meet on-time delivery and freight targets (including premium freight)
- Oversee staging, replenishment, kitting and shopfloor material flow
- Apply lean material handling principles to improve operational efficiency
Production Scheduling & Execution
- Execute short‑term production schedules in line with the Network Plan
- Translate schedules into labour loading, capacity utilisation and shopfloor readiness
- Ensure on-time release of WIP to operations
- Drive production attainment aligned with MPS and SIOP
- Escalate material or capacity constraints to planning and purchasing teams
Shipping, Customer Delivery & Compliance
- Execute customer shipment schedules based on priority dates
- Ensure accuracy, compliance and timeliness of all shipping activity
- Support late-order recovery, customer escalations and delivery commitments
- Ensure compliance with all trade, shipping and documentation policies
Data Health & Transaction Integrity
- Maintain ERP data accuracy across all material and production transactions
- Lead cycle count discipline, inventory controls and transactional integrity
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for system or data errors
Cross-Functional Alignment & NPI Support
- Work closely with Network Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering and Customer Service
- Coordinate material availability for engineering changes, tooling and NPI activity
- Provide real-time updates on risks, material status and production attainment
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years' experience in materials management, production control or plant operations
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, inventory transactions and production scheduling
- Experience with lean material flow, continuous improvement and root-cause analysis
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and deliver operational improvements
