Junior Project Data Analyst (Reporting)
Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days a week onsite in Warrington (travel / expenses will be covered)
Permanent
Salary: Depending on experience

Our client is seeking a Junior Project Data Analyst with strong analytical capability, curiosity, and a builder's mindset to support major infrastructure programmes across rail, water, nuclear and defence.

Working within a centralised Reporting‑as‑a‑Service function, you'll help turn fragmented, multi‑source project data into governance‑grade reporting that supports decision‑making. You will contribute to replacing manual, inconsistent reporting with structured, Smart Core-aligned products that integrate schedule, cost, risk and change into clear performance narratives.

You'll work closely with project controls, data engineering and AI teams to ensure reporting reflects real delivery conditions-not just the data behind them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting products aligned to governance cycles.
  • Extract, clean and model data across planning, cost, risk and change, aligned to Smart Core structures.
  • Support the creation of standardised reporting packs, KPIs, RAG thresholds and integrated performance views.
  • Help transition programmes from fragmented reporting to a centralised reporting service.
  • Develop insight-led content highlighting performance drivers, anomalies and emerging risks.
  • Work with project controls to resolve data inconsistencies and reflect the true delivery position.
  • Support automation of reporting pipelines using Power BI, Azure and Smart Core datasets.
  • Collaborate with AI teams on predictive indicators and automated narrative features.
  • Engage with delivery teams to ensure reporting is practical, relevant and used effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience in data analytics, BI or project/programme environments (desirable).
  • Strong skills in Power BI, SQL and the Azure ecosystem.
  • Ability to convert data into clear, decision-ready insight, not just visuals.
  • Understanding of how data supports planning, cost, risk and change disciplines.
  • Comfortable working with evolving datasets and improving them over time.
  • Ability to operate under structured governance and fixed reporting cadences.
  • Curiosity about how data shapes real-world delivery outcomes.

If this sounds like your next move, we'd love to connect!
