Our client, a key player in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Construction Assurance Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in delivering major Capital Investment Schemes, ensuring that civil engineering construction and maintenance projects meet the highest standards. This opportunity is based in Basingstoke with travel to multiple sites in the surrounding area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assuring the completion of planned works to agreed standards and escalating any concerns to the Construction Manager in line with governance requirements
- Ensuring all works are constructed in line with CDM regulations, HSE legislation, Chapter 8 requirements, DMRB, and MCHW
- Providing regular and timely feedback on scheme construction progress, risks, early warnings, and design-related issues to Project Managers
- Acting as the initial point of escalation for any on-site issues that need resolution
- Coordinating the delivery programme and carrying out buildability reviews on all projects
- Maintaining good liaison with Project Managers and Commercial & Procurement colleagues, providing relevant information on Early Warnings and Compensation Events
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in highways/structures maintenance/construction; experience on high-speed Trunk Road/Motorway networks is desirable
- Knowledge of site-based processes, legislation, practices, and policies for health & safety, environmental and quality management
- Good understanding of DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual, and CDM Regulations
- CSCS Card Holder is essential; IOSH or SMSTS preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including stakeholder management and customer focus
- Experience in using the NEC 4 ECC form of contract
