Our client, a leader in the Cyber Security sector, is currently seeking a Security Platform Engineering Manager to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This is an exciting contract position that requires a strong background in IT Cyber Security and experience with security platform engineering. This role involves leading a team responsible for the design, implementation, and operational ownership of security tools and platforms that are essential for Cyber Defence Centre (CDC) functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of security platform engineers delivering core CDC capabilities.
- Own the engineering lifecycle of key security platforms (e.g., endpoint, email, cloud, identity, intel).
- Ensure platforms provide high-quality telemetry and integrate effectively into detection and response pipelines (SIEM/SOAR, data lakes, etc.).
- Drive automation, scalability, and resilience in platform operations.
- Partner with CDC operations teams to prioritise platform features, tuning, and integrations.
- Maintain operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response support, and service health.
- Contribute to strategy, tooling roadmap, and platform capability maturity.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in a security operations or platform context.
- Strong technical background in platform integration, automation, and reliability engineering.
- Experience operating in hybrid enterprise environments.
- Deep knowledge of tools supporting SOC and IR functions (e.g., EDR, email security, TIP, identity detection, cloud telemetry).
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience in security platform engineering.
Beneficial Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCSP).
- Microsoft security certifications, such as SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst) or SC-100 (Cybersecurity Architect).
- Experience in regulated or global enterprise environments.
