HSE Advisor | Data Centre Construction

Location: United Kingdom

Sector: Critical Infrastructure / Data Centres

Contract Type: Full-time

The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive HSE Advisor to join our client's team on a high-profile data centre construction project. As a leader in civil engineering and infrastructure, our client is delivering the critical groundwork and structural foundations necessary for modern digital infrastructure.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are not just met, but exceeded, within a fast-paced, high-stakes construction environment. You will be the primary point of contact for safety on-site, driving a culture of "Safety First" across all phases of the build.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular, rigorous site audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and project-specific protocols.

  • Risk Management: Assist in the development, review, and implementation of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for complex civil engineering and structural tasks.

  • Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations into any near-misses or incidents, identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions.

  • Training & Induction: Deliver engaging site inductions and toolbox talks to a diverse workforce, ensuring everyone is aligned with the project's safety expectations.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and sub-contractors to integrate safety into the operational workflow without compromising delivery timelines.

The Ideal Candidate

Our client values precision, reliability, and a collaborative spirit. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience: A proven track record as an HSE Advisor within the construction or civil engineering sectors, ideally with exposure to large-scale infrastructure or data centre projects.

  • Qualifications: NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is essential. GradIOSH or TechIOSH membership is highly desirable.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and environmental management standards.

  • Communication: The ability to influence site teams and communicate complex safety requirements clearly and authoritatively.

  • Attributes: A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and the resilience to manage safety in a high-pressure, technical environment.

Why Join This Project?

This is an opportunity to work with a highly respected contractor on the backbone of the UK's digital economy. Our client is known for their commitment to quality and their investment in their people, offering a professional environment where safety is integrated into every level of the organisation.
