Our client, a leading company in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Technical Documentation Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical for supporting various projects within the maritime services division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Authoring and managing technical documentation to support engineering and defence projects
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation through meticulous document control processes
- Collaborating with engineering teams to gather and validate information required for technical documents
- Maintaining and updating existing documentation to reflect project changes and advancements
- Adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements for technical documentation
- Providing support for on-site documentation activities as required
- Facilitating effective communication of technical information to stakeholders
- Assisting with the preparation of documentation for audits and compliance reviews
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a Technical Author in a relevant industry, ideally within Defence & Security
- Strong knowledge of document control practices and tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation tasks
- Proficiency with documentation software and tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements, including ITAR
- BPSS + SC clearance required, or willingness to undergo clearance
Contract Details:
- Location: Portsmouth Naval Base, Scotstoun, or Filton
- Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension
- On-site: 1-2 days per week
- Inside IR35
