Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Thermal Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. Based in Cowes, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical projects within the maritime services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading thermal mechanical engineering efforts for defence projects
- Applying expertise in BAE mechanical engineering to develop and implement thermal management solutions
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met
- Conducting thermal analysis and simulations to assess performance and reliability
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Preparing detailed technical reports and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with BPSS, SC, and ITAR regulations
- Participating in on-site work three days a week, with full-time on-site work required during initial weeks
Job Requirements:
- Experience in mechanical engineering within the defence or maritime services sector
- Specialised knowledge of thermal management systems and solutions
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in thermal analysis software
- Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members
- Understanding of regulatory requirements such as BPSS, SC, and ITAR
