This position plays a critical role in maintaining robust PLM governance, change control, and configuration management, ensuring that engineering data is structured, controlled, and released efficiently to support downstream manufacturing and assembly activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the integrity of all product data within the PLM environment
  • Act as the central point for engineering data governance, ensuring consistency, traceability, and compliance
  • Control part numbers, engineering documents, CAD data, BOMs, and design lifecycle states
  • Administer product structures and validate metadata accuracy
  • Coordinate and progress release activities in line with configuration and document control standards
  • Oversee engineering change management processes, ensuring changes are properly evaluated, documented, and released
  • Maintain robust document control, including revisioning, version control, and linkage of supporting documentation
  • Support engineers and designers in following correct PLM and change processes
  • Troubleshoot PLM system and data issues and liaise with the external PLM service provider to optimise performance
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Quality teams

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years' engineering experience within Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace, Defence, Medical, or similar regulated environments
  • Expert‑level experience in engineering change management
  • Strong expertise in product lifecycle management (PLM)
  • Proven engineering output quality control experience, including engineering drawing review and approval
  • Strong PLM experience, ideally Windchill, including setup, data management, workflows, lifecycles, and optimisation
  • CAD experience, preferably Creo
  • Solid BOM management experience
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy

Desirable Attributes

  • Confident working in fast‑paced, high‑performance engineering environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating autonomously as a senior contractor
  • Process‑driven mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem‑solving

Why This Role?

  • Long‑term, 12‑month contract.
  • Flexible working pattern (3-4 days per week)
  • Hybrid working model
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact on design quality and data governance within a world‑class motorsport engineering operation
