Our client, a leading entity in the Defence & Security sector, is looking to engage a Lead Planning & Scheduling Practitioner for a contract role based in Warton. This position is within the Military, Air & Information division and involves a 12-month contract with hybrid working arrangements (2-3 days on site per week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with project deliverables and milestones
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate planning and scheduling across various project phases
- Identifying and managing scheduling risks and issues, proposing mitigative actions as necessary
- Utilising industry-standard planning tools and software to maintain accurate schedule information
- Providing regular schedule updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices in planning and scheduling processes
- Leading schedule reviews and facilitating meetings to drive project timelines
- Contributing to process improvements and best practice sharing within the planning team
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in planning and scheduling within the Defence & Security sector
- Proficiency in industry-standard planning tools and software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Understanding of project management methodologies and principles
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment
- Security clearance or eligibility for BPSS & SC
