As a Technical Lead, you will join one of the most advanced engineering teams shaping the future of defence technology. The Opportunity:

As a Technical Lead in the innovation programme team, you'll be at the heart of the work in RF Directed Energy Systems a fast growing, strategically important area for the business and the UK defence sector. This is a rare chance to guide groundbreaking research, see ideas transform into real-world systems, and work on technology that is genuinely world‑leading.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering RF DEW development activities.
  • Oversee electromagnetic modelling, electrical architecture analysis, system testing and design.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design Lead to drive design decisions, trade‑off studies and technical direction.
  • Take accountability for technical leadership, project delivery and budget management.
  • Shape cutting‑edge technology that will influence future defence capability.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven track record delivering complex engineering development activities.
  • Experience leading teams, encouraging collaboration and driving technical delivery.
  • A degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience with project planning, work package management or programme delivery
  • Willingness to undertake DV-level security clearance

Desirable experience in any of the following areas:

  • High‑power RF systems
  • Electrical/electronic architecture
  • Electromagnetic modelling
  • RF testing
