Our client, operating within the water sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working on significant water and utilities projects across North London, West London, Northwest London, M25, Croydon, Thames Ringway, Surrey, and Heathrow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing cost estimations and ensuring accurate forecasting for various water and utilities projects
- Conducting site visits and liaising with project managers to ensure effective project delivery
- Overseeing the preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
- Managing and assessing variations, claims, and CVR's
- Ensuring compliance with IChemE and NEC contracts
- Leading the cost management and budget control of projects
- Advising on procurement strategy and contract administration
- Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers
Job Requirements:
- Experience in surveying with a background as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the water, civils, or utilities sector
- Strong knowledge of cost management, forecasting, and CVR processes
- Proficiency in using and interpreting IChemE and NEC contracts
- Significant experience in Design & Build (D&B) and project delivery within a Tier 1 environment
- Ability to handle multiple high-value projects simultaneously
- Willingness to spend more time on site than in the office (minimum of 3 days a week on site)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying or a related field
