Our client, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Engineer to undertake a contract role in Leicestershire. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on significant carriageway and footpath schemes within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and executing multiple carriageway schemes
- Liaising with planning departments and ensuring seamless communication
- Designing, planning, and overseeing footpath work
- Conducting site investigations and assessments
- Creating drawings, health and safety packs, and risk assessments
- Preparing and setting up the necessary contracts
- Walking through site plans and ensuring compliance with contractors
- Collaborating on civil and road markings drawings
- Monitoring site activities and ensuring quality standards
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highway maintenance and management
- Proficiency in CAD and strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with contractors and planning departments
- Ability to manage and execute straightforward design tasks
- Willingness to work on-site regularly, with office attendance as needed
- Strong organisational skills to manage documentation and project plans
- Experience in setting up contracts and managing budgets
Role Details:
- Contract duration: Initial contract to March 2027
- Work split between on-site and office-based activities
