Our client, a leader in the water sector, is currently seeking a Design Lead for a contract position, focusing on civil engineering within various water programmes. This role is Leeds-based, but exceptional candidates can be considered for fully remote working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading civil design projects through their entire lifecycle within water treatment and supply programmes
- Managing and guiding multi‑disciplinary teams including civil, process, and MEICA engineers
- Coordinating and delivering on major Environment Agency pumping station projects
- Ensuring compliance with EA standards, with a focus on flood alleviation and storm overflow compliance
- Leading the design of storm overflow and Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) infrastructure schemes
- Overseeing civil design inputs across studies and design phases in wastewater non‑infrastructure delivery
- Providing leadership within wastewater treatment environments, ensuring high standards of project delivery
Job Requirements:
- Strong civil design leadership experience within water treatment or water supply projects
- Experience supporting or leading civil design activities through the design lifecycle
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of wastewater processes and AMP delivery
- Experience delivering wastewater infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of hydraulic solutions and storm overflow compliance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
