Our client, a leading company in the technology sector, is currently seeking a Mobile Test Engineer for a contract position. This role will focus on testing mobile applications and their cloud interactions. The successful applicant will be a strong self-starter, capable of working efficiently with guidance from the development team, and will handle a variety of testing elements including backend services, unit testing, and cloud applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and execute software testing and create test plan documentation for mobile apps and REST APIs
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and are testable
- Contribute to the Continuous Integration pipeline by running component builds
- Create test stories with input from the specification and developers
- Perform manual testing on mobile apps such as feature, regression, and stress testing
- Create and perform automated unit tests on code and APIs
- Document results and work with developers to resolve issues to root cause
Job Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills
- Solid knowledge and experience in developing test plans and regression test suites
- Demonstrable track record in testing mobile applications for Android and iOS through the full development lifecycle
- Experience of running tests for functionality, usability, performance, and REST APIs
- Experience with containerised solutions such as Docker
- Experience with test case management systems like TestRail
- Experience with defect management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Generating documentation for both internal and external use
- ISTQB or equivalent certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with unit testing
- Experience with testing containerised web-apps
- Automation testing (e.g., Appium)
