Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail industry, is seeking a Systems Integration Specialist to join their Rail and Transit team in Toronto. This is a permanent position where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of urban mobility by integrating complex systems for a major urban rail extension project, ensuring seamless coordination between new-build infrastructure and operational transit lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver systems integration strategies that align with progressive design-build milestones and revenue service goals
- Lead interface resolution workshops with designers, contractors, and operators to ensure interoperability and compliance
- Develop and maintain Systems Architecture, Interface Control Documents, and Integration Oversight Processes
- Support verification and validation activities to confirm integrated design compliance with industry standards and client expectations
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong technical team culture
Job Requirements:
- Experience in systems integration within the rail industry
- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline; P.Eng or EIT designation required
- Expertise in systems lifecycle management (V-model), interface definition, and testing alignment
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 15288, IEEE 1220, and CENELEC standards; INCOSE ASEP/CSEP certification is an asset
- Hands-on experience with IBM Rational DOORS and requirements management tools
- Strong knowledge of subsystems such as SCADA, signalling, traction power, and communications
