Our Civils contractor client are seeking a Quality Manager to support projects across Wales and the South West, ideally commutable to Bristol Avonmouth offices.
The Quality Manager is responsible for reviewing, developing, and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in line with current industry standards. The role ensures consistent quality performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all operations.
The role will require site, office and home working, supporting the like of Wessex Water, Welsh Water and National Grid projects. The role report to the company SHEQ Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and benchmark the existing Quality Management System against industry standards
- Develop and implement an updated QMS aligned with best practices
- Ensure effective rollout and ongoing management of the QMS across the business
- Lead and conduct internal quality audits
- Support external audits, including preparation and close-out activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including ISO 9001 and sustainability regulations
- Define, update, and maintain quality procedures in collaboration with stakeholders
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation
- Monitor quality performance through data analysis and reporting
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective action plans
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions through to resolution
- Establish and maintain document control procedures
- Review and update policies, recommending improvements and implementation plans
- Work with procurement to communicate quality standards to the supply chain
- Liaise with managers and staff to promote quality standards
- Provide training, tools, and techniques to support quality compliance
- Ensure the company operates efficiently and maintains a competitive edge
- Drive consistent adherence to quality standards across all functions
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Quality Management
- Proven experience in developing and communicating Quality Management Systems
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor qualification (preferred)
