A Contract position Outside IR35

2 days pw on site in Cambridgeshire

Our client is seeking an experienced FPGA & DSP Engineer for a contract role. This exciting opportunity involves working on cutting-edge radar, communications, and sensing applications. The successful candidate will possess robust skills in HDL and the AMD Vivado toolchain, with solid experience in digital signal processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality FPGA/DSP designs and implementations with minimal supervision
  • Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and project planning
  • Engage with clients on a technical level, including pre-contract scoping discussions
  • Potentially lead and mentor junior colleagues
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Identify and raise technical risks or concerns in a timely manner
  • Communicate progress clearly and maintain appropriate technical documentation

Candidate will need to be up-to-speed in some of the areas below:

- JESD204C implementation (coherent multi-channel up to 500Msps)

- GT transceiver use, multi-channel >10Gbps

- 40G/100G Ethernet (fibre)

- High speed SoC PLtoPS DMA datalogging engine - including ability to contribute to Linux driver development.

- Resource constrained (fit) high throughput FFT channels

- System controllers (board management without processor).

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with FPGA platforms, particularly AMD (Xilinx) silicon and Zynq SoC devices
  • Proficiency in HDL and the AMD Vivado toolchain for simulation and testing
  • Significant experience in digital signal processing, with knowledge of RF systems as an advantage
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into robust FPGA-based implementations
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team involving hardware, software, and systems engineers
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
